This is our first behind the scenes post, but most definitely will not be our last! You can be sure that in our next one we’ll be hamming it up for the camera even more.
This family is all about family. The love that Don, Gregg, and Ashley show for their children, Cameron and Grace, is awe-inspiring. They are not the most conventional of families, and that is what makes them even more special.
A couples photo session in a bookstore? Hell yes! When Natalie and Miranda told us that they love books and find old bookstores romantic we were all over the idea.
We have always loved the idea of doing a photo book of families with same sex parents. So of course we were intrigued when we found out about the Gay Families Project by Stefan Jora…
Meet Brock and Ali. They are two awesome married women that we were fortunate to meet through some mutual friends. Devlin is their awesome daughter. The hardest part of this session was running around after Devlin and trying to capture all of her adorable little expressions. She is such a character. We really have rough jobs.
Dana is my lovely sister and Jennifer is her wonderful girlfriend of 11.5 years. They are two of our favorite people on Earth! They are also part (and a large part) of why we fully support gay marriage, gay rights, and decided to focus our business on photographing gay and lesbian couples. I have never seen my sister happier or more complete than she has been with Jennifer.
We photographed this session in old downtown Bakersfield. The temperature was in the triple digits. Even the wind was hot, but it was totally worth it! We don’t let the heat get in the way.
