Sara here! It’s always crazy (in a good way) to photograph friends that I’ve known longer than I’ve been a photographer. It’s exciting and sort of strange at first. It’s also very humbling and really special (yes, I said special!)
Will and I go back many many years. We met when I was 17, which means we’ve been friends for 16 years now. Holy cow! For several years Will and I spent all our time together at punk shows and record shops. In fact, Will was there when I first starting photographing bands (which is what I photographed when I first started getting seriously into photography). Those were some fun days, and I’m glad we’ve been able to stay friends all these years. He could tell you some stories of my crazy days
Not that I don’t still enjoy a good punk show and a record buying excursion, but these days it’s just not as often as it used to be.
When Will told me he wanted us to photograph him and his girlfriend, Amanda, I was pretty excited. I had never met Amanda. I hoped, and was optimistic that she’d be super cool if she was with Will. I was right. Amanda was super cool and easy going right off the bat.
Amanda and Will were so refreshing and fun to photograph. Their chemistry on and off camera was pretty amazing. It made me really happy just to see how clearly good for each other they are. It also helped that they LOOK good together on camera. Amanda is one gorgeous girl. Good job, Will! They even wore complementary colors that looked awesome together, with no help from us!
We shot this session in less than an hour, but got so many amazing shots. Ryan and I had a hard time choosing images to blog. There were just so many we really loved. The session just unfolded beautifully and effortlessly. There was nothing forced between these two, and I think we captured that pretty well.
Will and Amanda, you two are awesome and thanks for the great session!
P.S. Will is a punk rock DJ who knows music like no other. Check out his Rock N Roll Zombie Facebook page.
