Growing up I loved cats and wanted one so bad. However, my sister and mother were both allergic. Around the age of 10 or so I developed an allergy too and, sadly, my dreams of ever having a cat seemed to be over.

I always loved visiting friend’s cats and playing with them, but usually ended up miserable afterwards. Against my better judgement, I would play with them or pet them and end up with puffy eyes, itchy nose and skin, hives, and constant sneezing. My best friend as a kid  would get mad at me because every time I came over I’d play with her cat, end up having to take Benadryl, and then fall asleep due to the Benadryl.

Of course, some cats affect me more so than others, and I was stoked when I visited a friend and his two cats didn’t bother me as much as others have. When my friend decided to leave town over the holidays I offered to petsit for him. For two weeks I spent a lot of time with them, and we became friends. Ryan and I both got extremely attached to them. It was hard to not see them everyday after that.

These two little girls are smart and so loving, and I had to take some photos of them. They high five, and even do their business in the toilet, instead of a litter box.

Oedipus is the larger cat with the grayish coloring and Tetra is the smaller one with the golden brown coloring. They are the best of friends!

Tetra took a little longer to warm up to me, and as you can tell she’s not too sure about me and my camera. Oedipus warmed up to me right away, and to my camera bag!
