Felicity hails from England, Duck from Lake Arrowhead, CA. They met online, sort of accidentally, and became friends. Neither of them were proponents of online dating, but found friendship came easy for them. After many months and many conversations Duck flew to England to meet Felicity in person. They fell in love and when he came home to California he brought Felicity with him!
Duck and Felicity live in Lake Arrowhead which has been continuously plagued by fires in the last several years. They have been fortunate not to lose their home, although the devastation has affected the whole town of Lake Arrowhead.
Duck and Felicity wanted to do their engagement session at a site near their home that was affected by the most recent fires.
Despite the devastation and sadness of the scenery, it was a gorgeous day. Lake Arrowhead has gorgeous trees, fresh air, blue skies, and yes, a gorgeous lake.
I love the use of the car and truck in these shots. I love the juxtaposition of the couple in love, starting their lives together against the background of what has been destroyed. Sad, but sort of beautiful, don’t you think…
