My grandparents are two of my most favorite people in the world! Ever since I was a child I have looked up to them with great admiration, respect, and love. We have had so many good times together. Some of my most fond memories are the weekends and vacations from school, we would spend together at the cabin. As a child my grandparents cabin was one of my favorite places on earth. I can still smell hotdogs and marshmallows roasting over the fire pit, and I will never forget the many hours of four wheeler/motorcycle rides during the spring, summer and fall months, and then the snowmobile rides during the winter! Our days were filled with various gems of goodness including sledding, igloo building, raspberry picking, fresh corn-on-the-cobb boils, late nights watching John Wayne films, and so much more! Whether it was a trip to the Oregon coast, a short outing, or a good game of UNO, we have always had a great time no matter what we do, or don’t do. Just spending time with my grandparents is fun all in its own!
They truly are two of the greatest people on the planet. They have always given so much to the family, and have been there for everyone at all times! I love them so much and try my best to visit and see them as much as I can, although it tends to be much less than we want. During my last visit I took the opportunity to photograph them. I really wanted to capture them on film, so I took my Hasselblad 501 and 80mm lens and had one of the most fun photo sessions ever! They are an adorable couple, complete characters, hysterically funny, and damn good cooks! I tell you right now, there is no one on earth that can bake a peach cobbler better then my grandma, and my grandpa’s cajun finger steaks should be world renowned by now. They are both pretty damn good looking too!
Getting to photograph them was one of the best privileges ever afforded!
