You should find that we are both two of the most honest photographers around today!
We are cool with you being crazy, outgoing, or even shy. We only hope you will come to your session in a great mood and leave in an even better mood. You are doing something that will live on in the photographs we will create together. You are also taking a moment to really reflect, forget about the world around you, and just breathe. Think of it as a mini vacation, even if only for a brief moment, you are, perhaps, indulging in one of your most memorable experiences. Your session will be what you make of it, with our help and expertise.
We are really not phased by anything, and we mean that very sincerely! We want you to be yourselves. We’re not here to tell you who to be, or how to act. We’re here to capture you in the absolute truest sense. Sure we love and respect incredibly well art directed and down-to-the minute detail compositions, but that is not what we are about. We don’t do the artsy photographer talk and act. We are good, real, down to earth people. We love even the most minute aspects of you that really define you as a person, couple, and family. So if you’re a quirky couple, we love that. If you’re too peas in a pod we love that too. If you are a wild couple, then you best be bringing that wild side. If you are a rambunctious family or a reserved and mild mannered family, bring it on!
We don’t outsource, we do everything ourselves (except prints and albums because we can’t afford our own lab yet, hehe)! A common misconception about photography is that it begins and ends with the camera. That could not be farther from the truth. Photography is a complete artistic process. In the days of prominent film shooting, post work consisted of film development and traditional darkroom type printing. These days many photographers capture, but don’t do their own post work, and post work has gone from analog to digital too. We do our own post work, great post work, as we are highly skilled and experienced in the “Digital Dark Room.” We’re not in the business of mass producing images or striking it rich. We’re in it for passion.
We’re not a budget studio. What we do has great value, that deserves fair compensation. We completely understand that everyone is on a budget (especially these days). We have completely taken the previously stated fact into account with our pricing, but if you’re looking for an 8 hour session for $1000 please don’t contact us – it will only waste your time and ours. Good professional photography is not cheap, and even bad photography in general can be quite expensive. Our prices are extremely fair and honest. You can’t expect to hire good photographers to capture amazing pictures, and then starve. We are very direct about that, and believe in complete honesty!
As photographers, we are true painters of light. We take time to really seek location and the best ambient light falling on that location. We eat, breathe, and live the experience. Taking the photos are just a small part of the entire process.
