Sara here! The best part about what we do is the amazing people it brings into our lives. From our first meeting with Care and Katy, via Skype, we loved them. We’re so lucky that they found us, and that they wanted us to be the ones to photograph their commitment ceremony. We thrive on building relationships with our clients and that came really easy with Care and Katy.
Care and Katy have been together for over 11 years and been engaged for four. The love these two have for each other shows in everything they do, from teasing each other, the glances they give to each other, to the way they dance together. It’s refreshingly obvious how happy they make each other.
Surrounded by family and friends their ceremony and reception took place at the Mission Beach Women’s Club in beautiful San Diego. The women’s club is adorable and charming and it was the perfect place for Care and Katy’s day.
The ceremony itself took place just behind the women’s club in a very populated, busy area by the bay. Lots of people stopped to watch and cheer the girls on.
I must say, Ryan and I were blown away by awesomeness of the people of San Diego. As we were doing portraits of Care and Katy in the nearby allies, everyone that crossed our paths (both old and young) cheered the girls on, congratulated them, and told them how awesome they looked. San Diego has to be one of the most gay friendly populations we’ve come across. There was nothing but genuine support by the locals!
They had pizza made on the spot by Red Oven, which was delicious artisan pizza! The photo booth was provided by Starlight Photo Booth. Daniel Gildenhorn of Evolution Productions DJ’d and did an amazing job.
Care and Katy and their family and friends were awesome to photograph. They are a super cool bunch of people who know how to have a good time. We enjoyed spending the day with them.
Care and Katy, we know you’ll have many many awesome years together, and we’re glad to now have you as our friends!
