Ryan here! We refer to this family as “The Awesome Todd Family”! Why? Because they are truly amazing people. This family is all about family. The love that Don, Gregg, and Ashley show for their children, Cameron and Grace, is awe-inspiring. They are not the most conventional of families, and that is what makes them even more special.
Without going into too much personal detail, they are a family of two dads (soon to be married). Ashley is the biological mother of Grace and Cameron, and Grace’s biological father is Don. Even though Ashley and Don are no longer together, she has always had a special place in Don’s heart and he in her heart. Since meeting Gregg, Don and Ashley have maintained a close friendship, and share custody with both children.
It is beautiful and refreshing to see such a loving family, who remain civil and share a love for each other and, of course, the children. This was a unique family session and we loved ever second. Although Ashley lives several hours away, the two dads and single mom, share the kids, and spend as much time together as possible; all five of them! You might agree after seeing the photos below, that Cameron and Grace are very lucky to have such compassionate and dedicated parents as Don and Gregg, and Ashley!
We shot this session at Newport Beach. It was a gorgeous day, although little Grace was freezing from the wind. She was a real trooper though!
